Manage my menus / dishes

Before we start - make sure that you are signed into your page - so that you can edit your emenu browser website. You can tell that you are signed in, by the large Edit / Dashboard bar that appears at the top of the page.

Add products for the first time

There is more than one way to add a new product. However, if you want to add a whole group of products all at the same time, this method will be the easiest:

1. Hover your cursor over the 'Dashboard' button at the top of the screen (on the right hand side), this will bring up a menu. Click 'Products'.
2. You should now have a screen with all your products listed on it (or a selection of products that have been pre-loaded with your emenu browser installation).
   Tip! If using emenu browser for the first time, you may wish to take a little time to explore these example-products and see how they work, before creating new ones of your own.
3. Click 'Add New Product' (on the top right), this will bring you to a new screen where you can start to enter your product details.
4. Enter the name, and price etc. 'Visible in Menus' will be automatically checked, but if you don't want this product to appear in any of your menus (usually unlikely), you can uncheck this - see Temporarily 'hide' a product for more details.
   Tip! (Products with a price of 0.00, will be displayed as 'Market price' to the customer. Please note that 'Market price' products cannot be bought through your online ordering system).
• Dish Types - These are variations of your dish, for example, a dish may come made with beef, chicken, pork. You can add a surcharge to your 'Base Price' for pricier ingredients, such as King Prawns, or Beef, and you can also choose to turn options in, or out of stock (with the checkbox beside the option). You may also be interested in looking at manage product types.
  Tip! Alternatively, you may find it easier to set a 'Base Price' of £0.00, and price each 'Dish Types'.
• Dish Options - These are side dishes, like chips, rice, or dish options like thin-crust, deep-pan, stuffed-crust. These can also have surcharges associated with each option.
5. You can also choose to add extra information, such as the item menu number (corresponding to your printed menu) - to make it easier for your kitchen, or perhaps a small image and product description. Product descriptions are a great way of adding a little something extra to your products, and making them more appealing to customers.
   Tip! Try to keep descriptions brief, to avoid clogging up your page with too much text.

So, we're all done!

• Click 'Add Product & Create Another' - this will save the product that you have just created, and then allow you to go on to create another product.
• Click 'Add Product' - this will save the product you have just created, and return you to the 'Products' page.

Finally! To return to the front-end view of your emenu browser, click on the large 'Return to Website' in the top left hand corner.

Edit a product

Notice a typo? Wanna change your prices? No problem!

1. To change a product on your menu, first navigate to the page where your eMenu Block can be found. Click the large 'Edit' button in the top left hand corner. This will activate the 'Edit Mode' for the page.
2. The 'Edit Mode' will enable you to edit any part of the page. Pick the eMenu Block that you wish to change and click on it; you will be given the option to edit it, and more importantly, the product that you want to edit.
3. Click the edit icon next to the product that you wish to edit. Make any changes you require, and then click 'Save Product'.
   Tip! If the same product appears in more than one eMenu Block, if you change the price or description, it will be updated in all locations. No need to worry about changing the price of a dish in multiple places!

Temporarily 'hide' a product

Sometimes, you may wish to have 'specials', or perhaps some seasonal dishes. This is where it can be handy to be able to make a product invisible.

1. To hide a product, navigate to the page where the product can be found and click the large 'Edit' button in the top left hand corner. This will activate the 'Edit Mode' for the page.
2. Pick the eMenu Block that the product is in, and click on it; you will be given the option to edit it. This will bring up a new window allowing you to change it.
3. Click the edit icon next to the product that you want to hide. Uncheck the 'Visible in Menus' checkbox, and then click 'Save Product'.
   Tip! This will make the product disappear from all menus that it is in - so no need to hide it in multiple locations!

Manage product types

If you need to manage what is available through your online ordering, for example due to an out of stock, you can do this via the 'Manage Product Types' page.

1. Hover your cursor over the 'Dashboard' button at the top of the screen (on the right hand side), this will bring up a menu. Click 'Products'.
2. You should now see your products page. Click on the link at the top right of the page, called 'Click here to manage product types'.
3. From this page, you may search for all your dishes which has the type 'chicken' - and you can turn these out of stock by using the checkbox to the right of the dish.
   Tip! Please note that if you switch a product type out of stock, you will need to switch it back on again when in stock, for your customers to be able to purchase it online.

Delete a product

To permanently delete a product, you will need to delete your product from the Products page.

1. Hover your cursor over the 'Dashboard' button at the top of the screen (on the right hand side), this will bring up a menu. Click 'Products'.
2. You should now have a screen with all your products listed on it.
   Tip! Use the dropdown menu or the search to help you hunt down the product(s) you want to delete.
3. Click the delete icon  next to the product that you want to delete. On the next window, you can 'Cancel' or 'Confirm' the deletion. To return to the front-end view of your emenu browser, click on the large 'Return to Website' in the top left hand corner.

Important! This will delete this product permanently. You will not be able to get it back! If you are not sure, you can Temporarily 'hide' a product instead.
